THIXO 61 LEAK SEAL

"SINGLE COMPONENT DUAL LIQUID RUBBER "

Thixo 61 Leak Seal is the single component high quality liquid rubber with composition of Acrylic modified co polymer with dual rubber technology which can be added with any cement and can apply in water tank, sunken portion and also can be used as a effective base coat /Primer for any water proofing coating system. Thixo 61 Leak Seal is composed of specially developed polymers, properly selected and graded fillers. It cures by sunlight and good air circulation and will give a tough flexible thin membrane. Thixo 61 Leak Seal has excellent flexibility and bonding with concrete, breathing properties, water resistance, crack bridging properties, weathering durability. Being a food grade it compliant with the requirements of FDA regulation 21CFR 175.300 for coatings in tank linings in contact with food, edible oils and drinking water. Due to this low molecular weight this can be easily penetrated in to any concrete surface and will give immense bonding strength and will give superior water proof.

Method of Application in Waterproofing

Surface preparation :

Surface should be clean, dry and free of any dust, grease, oil, and other loose materials.
Concrete surface should have a light steel-trowel followed by a fine hair broom or equivalent finish which is dry and free of dust, oil and other contaminants. All protrusions to be removed to level the surface.
Algae and fungi must be removed physically. After treatment leave for 2-3 hrs and then wash down thoroughly with clean water and allow drying completely.
Clean the remains of paint, rust and other contaminants before coating the metal surface.

As a Waterproofing Coating :

Thixo 61 Leak Seal should be applied by Airless Spray , brush/trowel in two coats maintaining the spreading rate to achieve the desired thickness .
In critical applications where film thickness is paramount and desired than the stated one then two coats should be applied with quantities per coat gauged to give the specified final film thickness.
If a water ponding test is to be run, the membrane should be fully cured

Precautions & Limitations:

Film formation may not be uniform and gradual under such circumstances & skinning on top surface may lead to formation of blisters and bubbles due to entrapped vapor from within the material. Top coat /Recoat Can be applied after touch dry and duration will vary depends upon the weather. Thixo 61 Leak Seal must be cured for a minimum of 2-4 hours @ 15℃ before applying top coat Where damage to the membrane is possible (By Traffic, backfilling, etc) it should be protected by a cementations screed or protection boards. A dust coat of cement should be used to prevent adhesion of the membrane to the surface A bond with the topping is not required;
